Monument Office is the online imprint of Kenneth Namkung and a platform for design exploration. It operates at the intersection of architecture, public space, and cultural memory. It searches for ways to extend and redefine civic and creative realms through design explorations, concept projects, and technological explorations.
Kenneth Namkung is a designer and strategist with extensive experience on cultural and institutional projects in the United States and abroad.
He has practiced with many prominent offices including Rafael Viñoly Architects and Santiago Calatrava New York, where he was part of the design team for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has taught design studios at the Boston Architectural Center (now Boston Architectural College), and has participated in design reviews at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, Syracuse University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Penn State University (as a Kossman Thesis Juror).
He coordinated, edited, and produced significant content for xPositions: Pavilion Dialogues, a book focused on the design and construction of the China Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015.
